Parrot Pirate...

The Cherub, Jo Jo, and I when out to a local establishment recently, mainly because the Cherub loves the kids menu. Not for the food, of course, but because it has a fill-in-the-blanks story that you can read. She always finds these stories hilarious. This time it was a pirate story that asked for inputs like the waitresses name, fruit, clothing etc. The Cherub loves to put in outlandish items knowing the resulting story will be even more hilarious. Then she asked, “Daddy, Talk like a pirate.” So I did, and the resulting story left her in stitches, especially the line, “And I had found me long lost pink leotard.”
So, as I am talking like a pirate it occurs to me that every time I do, I always have the urge to say the word “parrot”. I don’t know why, but I have always thought of Parrots and Pirates together, and often confuse them when i try to say the word. Then I came along a computer card game that has characters, both human and animal, that you can play with, and one of them is “Scurvy the Parrot Pirate”. He is now my favorite character in the game; I never play cards without him. Arrrr.
